About the Association
The Japanese Association for Role-Playing Game Studies is a nonprofit organization established with the aim to enable discussions about non-digital (analog) role-playing game practice and research across borders. With its Diamond Open Access and bilingual journal, the association seeks to create a bridge between English and Japanese discourses and between researchers and practitioners worldwide.
The seat of the association is the institution to which the editor-in-chief of the Japanese Journal of Analog Role-Playing Game Studies (JARPS) belongs. Currently, this is the Graduate School of Letters of Kyoto University, Japan. The journal collaborates with the Kyoto University Library and its repository KURENAI to host the PDF versions of articles. For accessibility reasons, the journal also provides HTML versions of its articles directly from its homepage.
The Editorial Board of the journal also serves as the Board of Directors of the association.
The association can be reached via the journal's principal contact.
